Kennedy is an Honors WBL student whose career goal is to become a registered nurse. She is interning with Northeast Georgia Health Systems and hopes to work in a major hospital one day.

 

She is passionate about healthcare and helping others and exhibits excellent employability skills.

Madison is a third year WBL Student and a first year Honors WBL student who has decided on Dental Hygiene as her career passion. She is in her second year interning (first as non-paid and now as paid) at BGW Dental Group. Madison is currently pursuing her Dental Assisting License so she can increase her skill set and gain more experience on the job. She intends to enroll in a Technical School after graduation to pursue her degree. Madison strongly displays the War Eagle Way in all she does. She is self-motivated, respectable and has a strong work ethic.

Karah Dale is a second year Work-Based Learning student.  Karah plans to continue her education at the University of North Georgia and pursue nursing.  Specifically her goal is to become a labor and delivery nurse.  While at Hopewell Karah has enjoyed working with the special needs ministry along with her other duties.  She enjoys the children and creating activities for them.

Alexis is the WBL_Carter Student of the month for August 2018!  She is a Senior and is currently interning at Northeast Georgia Health Sytems

 

 

Alexis is pursuing a career in Pediatric Oncology  and is completing soft skill lessons to earn the Georgia Best Certificate!  Alexis is planning to attend Berry College next year to study healthcare.

Skylar is the WBL_Filchak August Intern of the Month! She is a senior whose career goal is to either teach music or music therapy. She desires to obtain her masters degree within the next 5 years, and possibly her doctorate degree in music education or music therapy!

MacKenzie Walker

Mackenzie is a senior at LCCA and is leading the charge in Culinary Arts!  Her sophomore year, MacKenzie started as an introductory part-time student at LCCA. She quickly found her passion in cooking!  MacKenzie was a leader from the start.  She is inquisitive, driven, and a team player. 

Mackenzie started Dual Enrollment with Lanier Technical College her junior year with a goal to get her associates degree in Culinary Arts by the time she graduates high school.  In addition, she started working in the Bistro @ The Oaks as an advanced culinary student and with Lake Lanier Islands as she continued her studies. 

Now as a senior full-time at LCCA, MacKenzie is enrolled in college classes, is a first-year WBL student, and leader of FCCLA.  Her persistence, goal-setting, and hard-work is noted in ALL that she does.

Leah Smith

Poultry Technical Services

Leah is a Senior who works at Poultry Technical Services in Gainesville.   She is currently completing two Agriculture pathways (Agricultural Mechanics & Veterinary Science). Leah plans to pursue a career in Avian Veterinary Science (specializing in the treatment of birds) and is gaining valuable experience on her current job.  She is also learning employability skills thru Work-Based Learning.

Caleb Franklin

Caleb is a Work-Based Learning intern at Specialty Clinics of North Georgia in Gainesville. He has completed his Healthcare Science pathway and plans to pursue a career in orthopedics. He is a member of HOSA and has competed at the Regional and State levels. Caleb is a highly motivated, displays great work ethic and represents Sparta well.

​

When asked about his internship, he said, "I have learned so much already and actually get the change to practice what I have learned over the years. It has given me so much insight into what patient care is all about."
