Aniah James

Cherokee Bluff High School

Aniah works as a team member at Fox Factories. Her mentor states she is a great team player, great communicator and is on time with her duties. 

​

Fox Factories is a local manufacturer producing suspensions for ATV and other recreational vehicles .

Abbi is a Graphic Design pathway completer and an intern at Eagle Eye Graphics. Abbi assists with inventory, fills customers’ orders, designs merchandise and helps with production. Her mentor states,  “Abbi is a great intern. She displays a great work ethic and always arrives to work with a positive attitude!” Abbi will be graduating a year early to get a head start in pursuing a career in interior design/architect. She has been accepted into seven colleges and is still deciding on the best fit for her! We are so proud of you Abbi and excited to see where life takes you!

Kinsley is a senior WBL student employed with Lula Pharmacy.  Kinsley has not decided completely on a career goal but wants to do something she loves while helping others.

When asked about her experience with Work-Based Learning, Kinsley stated “WBL is a great way to become more responsible and widen your experience.” 

Kinsley has learned “to always do your best even when you think no one is watching and that doing your best is the best you can do.”

Sebastian Barrera

Sebastian is the Work-Based Learning Student of the Month for November 2020!  He is a Senior and is currently interning at Dr. Jason Payne Family Dentistry Flowery Branch.

 

Sebastian completed the Healthcare  Pathway and he is working to earn the  Georgia Best Certificate!

Lane Grindle

Lane Grindle is named LCCA’s January 2021 intern of the month! Lane is a pathway completer in Mr. Presley’s HVAC/Low Voltage Electrical programs.   He is currently a lab assistant completing various tasks on campus along with being a big contributor to the Tiny House and the carpentry projects that are sold in the MetalWood Design shop. 

Lane is dependable, consistent with his work, and is continuing to branch out and learn new skills in the industry.  Fall of 2020, Lane worked hard to receive his OSHA-10 Safety Card. 

Not only does Lane contribute his time to the construction lab, but he also works a job after school.  He is working hard on his academics and has EXCEPTIONAL attendance.  The employability skills we strive for at LCCA are evident in his character.

Karah Walker

NHHS After School Program

Karah works as an after school counselor where she supervises elementary students, coordinates snacks, plans activities, and helps with homework.  She has taken classes in Early Childhood Education and has recently worked on a project to create virtual career lessons for Hall County elementary schools. 

 

Karah is an exemplary student and her students look up to her.  She is working on completing her Georgia BEST Certification and plans to pursue a career in counseling or healthcare.

Clayton Jenkins

Clayton is a Work-Based Learning intern at Merlin Marine in Buford. He is a student in the Ag Mechanics pathway. Jamie plans to pursue a career in mechanics.   

 

​Clayton's supervisor states that she can trust him to do what he is asked with a positive attitude and he wishes he had more like him.

​
