STUDENT OF THE MONTH

Hannah Culbertson

Chestatee High School

Hannah is a Junior and is a part of the Honors Work-Based Learning Program where she interns for 3 periods at Lanier Elementary to explore the teaching career to see if it is a good fit for her.

 

Hannah’s mentor states, “The students love working in Miss Hannah’s group. Hannah is doing a wonderful job.”

 

Some tasks Hannah has been doing are teaching small groups, grading papers, making copies and observing teacher meetings. Hannah states, I find joy in assisting the students who seem to struggle to learn the most. I am determined to push the students to the furthest mark so they can learn more and be successful.” Hannah is also striving to earn her GeorgiaBEST Soft Skills Credential.

 

Great job Hannah, we are so proud of you!

Lanier Elementary School

Giselle Zuniga

Giselle Zuniga is a nurse intern with the Northeast Georgia Health Systems.  Giselle has had the opportunity to rotate through several locations at NEGHS.  These rotations have included Surgical, Pediatrics and the Emergency Department. 

 

On a recent employer evaluation her mentor stated Giselle “Asks questions, is engaged and interested in patients.”  Another mentor stated “Giselle has been a great help.  I can see her becoming a great addition to any company as she matures.”

​

Giselle plans to attend University of North Georgia where she will pursue a degree in Nursing.

Brian Robles

Brian is a Senior at FBHS.  He is an intern at Mundy Mill Dental in Oakwood, GA.  Brian is pursuing a career in dentistry.  Brian is also earning his Ga Best Elite Certificate. 

Dr. Mike Martin stated that “Brian is an excellent person to be around” and one of the “best interns he has had.” Great Job!  #wblworks

Maddie Harris and

Kelly Kritzinger

Maddie and Kelly are both Yearbook Journalism Interns at FBHS. Creating and editing the yearbook, daily operations, conflict resolution, and managing staff actions are just a few of their duties as Yearbook editors and interns. 

 

As a result of the hard work of Maddie, Kelly, and last year’s staff, the 2017 yearbook has been recognized for excellence and featured in the 2018 Jostens Look Book, celebrating the best-of-the-best in yearbook design and coverage. This book will be distributed to all high schools in the nation who use Jostens.

Madeline List

Belk

Madeline is a Senior who is currently employed at Belk! 

​

Madeline has taken IB courses and different CTAE courses while trying to figure out her future plans.  She first joined WBL to accommodate a part-time job. 

​

 

Capitalizing on her good “people skills” she decided to work at Belk over the holidays.  Madeline was one of a few employees offered a permanent job after Christmas.

West Hall High School

Madelyn is a senior at West Hall who plans to pursue a career in the  medical field. She is currently working at Rite Aide to discover is pharmacy is the path she wishes to seek employment in. She is an excellent student and represents Sparta well in the community!
