Kate is an Occupational Therapy Intern at Walker Therapy where she gets to work alongside professionals and receive hands-on training in her career area of interest. She will complete her Sports Medicine Career Pathway this year and has already completed her Business and Technology Career Pathway. Kate is also a part of the inaugural Honors WBL Program where she works alongside other Honors WBL students from the county to complete more rigorous coursework, a college level e-portfolio and community service programming hours. Kate has enjoyed getting to know the patients and developing a more specific knowledge of the industry and looks forward to learning more skills that will help her grow has an individual and as a professsional. She is also striving to earn her GeorgiaBEST Soft Skill Certification. Kate’s communication, motivation and time-management skills are well beyond her years. Congrats Kate, keep up the good work! Andrea Corona
Andrea Corona is a journalism intern with The Gainesville Times. Andrea has written and published an article on The Humane Society. In addition, she has shadowed reporters covering news stories. Andrea is also a part of the Honor’s WBL cohort where students focus on creating a professional e-portfolio, community service projects and rigorous requirements exploring her career interests and completing her Georgia Best “Elite” soft skill certification.
Andrea’s future goals include continuing her education by earning her Master’s degree in either Journalism or Mass Communication. Her career goal is to become a professional journalist and eventually an editor.

She has completed the Business Pathway and continues to maintain an excellent GPA while working. Samantha is pursuing her 2nd GA Best Elite Certificate and she wishes to have a career in helping others.

Allie works as a teacher intern at Davis Middle School with Mr. Kai Bassett in Chorus. She assists students with various vocal ranges, and works with All-State Students to prepare them for competition.
Allie wants to major in developmental psychology and minor in music. She aspires to get her Master’s degree in family counseling and her Doctorate degree in psychology. Allie’s career goal is to be a child psychologist using music therapy. Keep up the good work, Allie!!

Leah is a Senior who works at Poultry Technical Services in Gainesville. She is currently completing two Agriculture pathways (Agricultural Mechanics & Veterinary Science). Leah plans to pursue a career in Avian Veterinary Science (specializing in the treatment of birds) and is gaining valuable experience on her current job. She is also learning employability skills thru Work-Based Learning.

Anna is a hospital Intern at Northeast Georgia Medical Center where she gets hands-on experience in the medical field and gets to train alongside professionals in her career area of interest. She is currently enrolled in the Allied Healthcare Pathway. Anna is also a part of the inaugural Honors WBL Program where she partners with other Honors WBL students from the county to complete more rigorous coursework, a college level e-portfolio and community service hours. Anna has enjoyed her time at the hospital working with patience and professionals. She is looking forward to experiencing other departments in the hospital. She is also working towards earning her GeorgiaBEST Soft Skill Certification from the Department of Labor.
