I want to become an Occupational Therapist after school. WBL has helped me tremendously because it has given me an opportunity to explore the field I am interested in. Last year, I interned at Sisu, a school for children with special needs, and this year I am interning at Lula Elementary in the Special Education classes. Not only have I gained work experience and responsibility, I have also decided what I want to do in the future. I have worked with children one-on-one and in small groups to assist them in learning how to read, write, and do math. I have gained communication skills with children and adults, and I have improved my punctuality.

After high school, I would like to go to college and earn my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and then after that, I would need to earn my Master’s in Occupational Therapy to become an OT. I would definitely recommend WBL to other students because it helps you balance school and work, and if you do an internship, you can gain experience in the area you are interested in pursuing as a career.
